What HTTP 408 means
RFC 9110 §15.5.9. The server didn't receive the full request within its timeout window. Different from 504 (which is about upstream timeout). Often seen with slow uploads or stalled connections.
Typical causes
- Slow client upload
- Network stall mid-request
- Server idle timeout too short
